Alexander Stanishev is a Bulgarian cinematographer, member of the Bulgarian Association of Cinematographers, the European Film Academy, and The Syndicate 7, with selections at top-tier festivals such as Camerimage, Sundance, Berlinale, SXSW and Sarajevo.

He is best known for the American drama Touched with Fire (dir. Paul Dalio, exec. prod. Spike Lee, starring Katie Holmes and Luke Kirby), and the documentary The Magic Life of V (dir. Tonislav Hristov).

Stanishev received the Kodak Vision Award for Best Cinematography at Slamdance 2012 and the Bulgarian Film Academy Award for Best Cinematography for Kristina Nikolova’s Faith, Love and Whiskey.

He has lensed six feature films, ten prime-time TV series, six feature documentaries, numerous shorts, music videos, and over 300 commercials, working extensively across the United States and Europe.

From 2012 to 2015, he also taught cinematography at Kemi-Tornio University of Applied Sciences in Finland.
